Instructions for Joining Troop 73 Alameda Website Using your non-Hotmail or non-MSN e-mail account (Only Registered Boys, Their Parents, and Registered Troop Leaders may Join) - Print these instructions as a reference to follow, or open a new window (CTRL + N) to perform the instructions in.
- Click “Join Now” on the left side of the page
- Click “Get a .NET Passport”
- Choose “Yes, use my e-mail address”
- Fill in the information on the next screen for “Create Credentials”
- Fill in the information on the next screen for “Review and sign the Agreements”
- You should see “You’ve Created Credentials”
- You should see “Account Services Home”
- At this point, go to your e-mail from MSN and follow the instructions to activate your passport. Signing in and out of the website is affected by how you direct your passport account to ‘remember’ your log in.
- Once you have clicked on the link in your e-mail to confirm your e-mail address, you should see “Confirm your e-mail address”
- After following the instructions, you should see “Your e-mail address is confirmed”
- You should see “Account Services Home”
- Repeat step 2
- Click on “sign in”
- You should see “Create your MSN account”
- After pressing “continue”, you will be brought back to the troop site and notified that “This is a members-only area”
- Click on “Apply to Join”
- Enter your first name (avoid using your last name) or nick name, under Messages - chose "On the web", under Group Reports - chose "Daily", enter a message to the manager (who is actually one of the Scout Leaders) stating who you are
- You will receive a notice of submission. Please allow time for one of our leaders to respond to your submission and notify you via e-mail
- After following the instructions in the e-mail, you will have access to all the documents (VERY important) and be able to post messages to the board (VERY effective). Please note: Although these directions may seem cumbersome, we feel it is necessary to help keep communication within our troop on a secure level to ensure the safety of our minor members.
