We have developed the Keg Shaped Adult Beverage Can Pot to a better standard.
Building this requires a side cutting can opener, and uncolored, fiberglass drywall tape.
A technical note on the Keg Pot;
Fiberglass doesnt take dies or colors well, so they seem to use a plastic coating to color some drywall tape. Of course, this plastic coating catches fire, and burns the fiberglass threads, destroying it. Use only uncolored fiberglass drywall tape.
Six wraps of fiberglass drywall tape around the center of the Keg Pot seems to be the magic number. More wraps puts the layers directly into the upward flow of flame, shortening its life. Less wraps means less insulation from the heated pot surface (heated by the boiling water).
Should flare ups, or heat over time, cause the adhesive in the drywall tape to weaken, just tuck the end under the last wrap, pull it snug, and trim it (see photo):
