CROUZET TICKET STOCK - STANDARD TICKETS

A ticket from the first day of public service. Note the thin oxide strip on the reverse for opening the ticket barriers.

Ticket from the first day of services on the Haymarket to Heworth section. Note the three letter station code, OFD, Old Fold, the original name planned for Gateshead Stadium but changed shortly before it opened.

A standard single ticket. The ticket back is now white.

Ticket from the opening day of the Airport extension from Bank Foot. By this time most tickets were being issued without the oxide strip after the abandonment of the ticket gates in 1989.

A Metro Daysaver ticket. This was the standard ticket back for most of the 1990s and some machines were still issuing these in 2004.

A Metro return ticket. This is the current standard ticket back.

The machine that issued the ticket on the left appeared to be having problems. The ticket on the right is a Network DayRover. The dog printed on the ticket is used in the publicity of these.

Metro fare zones were simplified during August 2005 and the number of zones for which a ticket is valid are now printed.
