When and where do we go indoor climbing?
Our club goes climbing at Vertical Reality Climbing gym on Monday and Wednesday nights from 5.30pm to 10pm, at a discounted rate of $9.
Why join our club?
To find climbing buddies, meet new people, get discounted indoor climbing, use the club's gear, get prepared to go on outdoor adventures, or simply try something you have never done before.
Who are the members?
We average around 40 members (men and women) including a bunch of international students. Just to give you an idea, we were between the age of 18 and 45... but anyone is welcome.
How much does it cost to join? it's $30 for for 1 year or $26 for 6 months for both students and non-students, this includes our club fee and a membership to UniLife which offers you great discount benefits!!
You can join anytime through the year. But note that membership expires either the 28/02 or the 31/08.
What time shall I come to the gym?
If this is your first time, you will need to book beforehand, see join page. Please come at either 5.30pm-ish, 6.30pm-ish or 7.30pm-ish to process your enrolment then go through the induction course given on the hourly bases (6pm, 7pm...). If you are already member, we suggest you arrive anytime before 7.30pm so that you get a chance to enjoy more than a few climbs. Who will introduce me to the club activity?
At least one of the committee member will be there to introduce you to the club activity, its gear and its members.
Don't have a partner to climb with?
No problem, there are plenty of climbers, so just walk up to anyone from the club who isn't already climbing and ask if they want a belay. Next thing you know, you will have a partner!
But remember not to climb on the wall for half hour as it can be frustrating for your partner to belay that long!

Unfortunately we cannot take people outdoors for insurance reason. The presence of a qualified instructor is required and this is not possible with our current budget. However there are commercial companies in Adelaide that could take you out on real rocks...
