Violin Maker, Electric,Bows & Period Instruments

OBJECTIVE

I am first a violinist but have had the opportunity to work in violin and bow making. I have made dozens of instruments, bows and violins and have repaired and restored many instruments including Violas, Cellos, Basses, Guitars, Guitarones and even Zithers. From peg hole bushings to gluing seams, varnish touchup french polishing and graduating tops and backs.

09/2002-present Allegro Music Center

02/2002-06/2002 Hogan Violins Violin and Bow Making including Period Instrument reconstruction done for Case Western University Cleveland, Ohio

(baroque violins, bows and baroque conversions)

11/1999-06/2000 Chandler Music, Arizona Mostly Teaching and a limited amount of repairs on string instruments.

3/1992 - 6/1998 Corporacion de las Artes Musicals San Juan, Puerto Rico Member Orquesta Sinfonica de puerto rico  adjust instruments for the music in school programs. Violins, Violas, Cellos and basses. Theses were mostly student instruments.

4/1984 - 6/1985 Casals Museum San Juan, Puerto Rico

Instrument Repairman

Repair the cello in the musuem including bows. The repairs were to the neck. It had collapsed and required a button graft to the back of the instrument. There was also damage to the top, some seams were open and several cracks had opened on the top.

Repair instruments(violins, violas, cellos and Basses) and bows that were brought in to the shop.

7/1981 Oakland Symphony Fellowship Program US-California-Oakland

Certification

This was a one year program for minority string instrument performers. Its purpose was to study orchestral playing and gain experience by playing in an orchestra. This program was initiated by Calvinn Simmons then conductor of the Oakland Symphony
