On a more personal note I am a transplanted Canadian (grew up in Southern Ontario) now living in Dorset, England. I've been in the UK since 1995 (spent the first 6 years in Scotland) when I married a wonderful guy, Nick, from Liverpool. At the moment I am a stay at home doggie mom to our three girls, Chelsea (a whippet/terrier mix) who got us into whippets, Savannah (our first whippet) and Teya (who is out of Savannah's sister). I'm Brigitte and I live in Maryland, just outside of Washington, D.C., where I work as a journalist on the U.S. political beat. My passion is Whippets, and I do rescue work, show a little, lure course a little, race a little and do obedience and agility. Bambi was my first, coming into my life in the spring of 2000. She enjoys visiting a local nursing home as a Delta Pet Therapy partner. Rudolph joined us in 2001 as a companion to Bambi, and he excels at lure coursing, agility and food thievery. My population doubled in 2005 with the addition of Summer, a showgirl who finished her championship in record time, and Daisy, a tiny rescue who stole my heart while I wasn't looking. I am a commercial photographer and have a pet portrait business of my own as well. I'm single and live with my two whippet boys Spats and Rivet and my whippet girl Simmer. I also have a Basenji girl, named Copy. In 1993 it was because of Copy that I met the two wonderful people who introduced me to their Whippets. Before that, I had no idea that these dogs had such fun personalities and a great love of life; I became hooked on the breed, as are so many others here. My dogs and I are very active in agility, obedience, tracking, racing, lure coursing and conformation and together they have over 50 titles! Sorry, but my website is still under construction!!
