Learning Lessons Ritual

Items needed:

Notebook

Blindfold

9 foot rope

Mugwort Oil

Moon phase: New Moon

Anoint the rope with the Mugwort oil and lay in the form of a circle. Sit in the middle of the

circle facing North with the notebook in front of you and anoint the notebook with the oil. Put on

the blindfold and anoint your forehead with the oil. Then say the following:

Lord and Lady, I come to thee,

Open my eyes to the teachers

You send to me!

Let me know them when approached

In all their forms,

Whether be people, animal, spirits

Or winter storms!

Lessons of life come daily

I am well aware,

Let me know them,

As they come to me!

With learning comes growth,

With growth, understanding.

Teachers of the universe

Can be harsh

And somewhat demanding,

Or gentle and kind

To expand my

Mind!

Lord and Lady let me see,

The teachers now, sent to me!

This is my will, with harm to none, so mote it be!

Sit in your rope circle for a little while listening to all the sounds around you and taking in

the view. Take your time to really observe, and contemplate all the forms that teachers may

appear to you and possible lessons they may have to offer you. When you are finished take your

rope and put it somewhere for safe keeping, perhaps at a desk with your notebook as a reminder

to you.

Use the notebook as a student journal, keeping it readily available to write in frequently.

write down, in your notebook the form the teacher appeared to you, the message it was sending

to you and the lesson learned. You may not need to write down every teacher that appeared to

you in a days time however try to pick one or two that held the most importance to you, doing

this on a daily basis or even once a week should be sufficient.
