Ian Pearson Presland

My dad, Ian Presland went to great lengths to preserve for me, photos of my family in proper albums. Not only did he painstakingly document the pictures of his ancestors, but those of my mum as well. The pictures go back generations – as far as the 1890s. They were all precisely labelled so that I would know who the people were. They were not in any particular order, just added to the albums as he chose. The only split is between relations from my dads side of the family and those from my mums.

By way of explanation, the relationships referred to in the Presland and Uncle Charlie Albums are the relationships between the person depicted and my dad. The relationships referred to in the Whale Albums are the relationships between the person depicted and my mum, Lesley Presland (Nee Whale)..
